This is one of the last quilts given in 2021.  This navy veteran joined in 1942, served four years, and at the time of quilt presentation was 100 years old.  Sadly he passed away about two weeks later and his family stated that the quilt was always wrapped around him.  They were very appreciative that he was given this last thank you for his service.

Quilts of Valor

The mission of the Quilt of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

The Quilts of Valor Foundation comprises of over ten thousand volunteers and supporters.  They have wrapped over a quarter million service members and veterans to date and continue to do so.

Our group, BCS Quilts of Valor, (formerly The All American Bee) was formed in 2016 and as of the end of 2021 had presented 68 quilts.

Most of the members of the BCS Quilts of Valor are members of The Brazos Bluebonnet Quilt Guild.  We have asked members to volunteer to longarm these quilts and they do so gladly.

The quilts can be requested through the website, www.qofv.org and click on How to Request a Quilt of Valor.  In many cases, requests are taken from friends and relatives.  There are two requirements:  1. they must have served in the United States military and 2. They must have been honorably discharged.  If you have any questions, you can contact Marjean Neve at marjeanneve52@gmail.com.
